About the Town

Lovell is centered on Kezar Lake, a nine-mile body of water framed by views of the White Mountains. Public beaches and boat launches provide access to the lake, while Sabattus Mountain offers a short but rewarding hike overlooking the valley. The Greater Lovell Land Trust maintains additional trails and preserves that connect into the community.

The Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library serves as a gathering point, while annual events such as Old Home Days, the Arts and Artisans Fair, and the Tour de Lovell cycling ride sustain local tradition. Author Stephen King has long kept a home on Kezar Lake, adding to the town’s cultural identity. With its combination of lake, mountains, and small-town character, Lovell stands out as one of the region’s most distinctive communities.
